Accrington Woodnook Primary School

At Woodnook this week, we have been doing lots of different STEM (Science Technolody Engineering Maths) activities throughout school.

Our focus has been 'Space'.

In EYFS and Key Stage One, we have been using Space stories as a stimulus for our activities: making craters on the moon, making rockets and thinking about ways to protect astronauts when they try to land their buggy on the moon!

In Key Stage Two, we have been using a green screen to pretend we're in space, making an astronaut lander, a solar system mobile and a scaled drawing of the solar systems.

The children have had an amazing time being scientists, engineers and mathematicians!

DT Enrichment Opportunities

It was great to see so many parents attend our STEM workshop.  They had lots of fun completing the different challenges with their children!
